- Julia Manning Ferraro: Main character. Housewife raising two children.
- Joe Ferraro: Joseph Ferraro. Julia's husband and an actor on a famous show The Squad.
- Ruby Ferraro: The only daughter and oldest child of Joe and Julia. She is a vegan and a bit overprotective of Sammy. She had gone though several miscarriages with her parents between her and Sammy.
- Sammy Ferraro: The youngest child and only son of Joe and Julia. He is 10 years younger than his sister.
- Alison: One of Julia's best friends. Julia, Beth, and Alison shared a loft in college. Alison was a model.
- Dr. Benjamin James: Julia's former shrink that she once thought she was in love with. Beth thinks Julia should go back to seeing him professionally. Alison and Beth call him Dr. Boyfriend.
