“Cute prose for a Thursday........Sweet Thursday !!!Chapter 8, Page 87:"Lisbeth put down her fork and leaned close. "I'm going to tell you something, San, because I think it might help. A few months ago Vincent and I were having our problems...boredom with the relationship, snapping at each other...the usual...but now we've got it back together...better than ever...and it's all due to a fantastic new arrangement...Thursday night off....""I don't get it.""Thursday nights off from each other, from the marriage."Sandy still wasn't sure what Lisbeth was trying to tell her."Every Thursday night I go out with another man and he goes out with another woman and then we come home and tell each other everything.""Sleep with, you mean?""Yes, of course. Isn't it incredible that something so easy should bring us back together?""Who do you go with?""Right now it's this art director. he's young, his wife and kids are out at the beach for the summer, so we go to his place and just ____, and ____, and ____.""And Vincent?""He's got some graduate student doing her thesis on eighteenth-century poets." "And do they know about your arrangement, the graduate student and the art director?""Of course. Everything must be out in the open...that's the only rule...no secrets...you see, San, it's secrets that cause problems...this class I took last semester on Contemporary Relationships was fabulous...showed us how secrets cause strains. This openness has been such a boon to our marriage..." "Well, I don't know what to say.""Don't say anything. I'm only telling you because I think it could do a lot for you and Norman.""Norman is very conservative.""I know, you'd have to approach the subject carefully, but I'm still convinced it could work for you." __________________________Page 110:"Yes?" she said, picking it up on the fourth ring, sounding annoyed. "Sandy?""Yes""This is Vincent.""Who?""Vincent, Vincent Moseley.""Oh, Vincent...hi...sorry...I didn't recognize your voice.""How are you, Sandy?""Oh, just fine, how about you?" Why would he be calling her unless he had bad news. "And the family, how's the family?""They're fine, as well.""Oh, good, for a minute there I was worried.""No, everything's okay. Lisbeth told me she had a nice visit with you the other day.""Yes, we don't see each other often enough.""Look, Sandy, I was wondering if you could meet me for dinner next Thursday?""The four of us, you mean?""No, Lisbeth's busy on Thursday nights. Just the two of us...informally...a chance to talk...""Thursday, you said?""Right.""That's Thursday, the seventh?"____________________________Page 111:Vincent X. Moseley? On Thursday night? What was this all about? Unless...oh, it couldn't be that! Not Vincent. Then why? Strange. Vincent calling out of the blue that way. She'd just have to wait and see.___________________________Page 162:"Well, it's just seven-forty-five. How about a movie?"She tried to hide her surprise. She hadn't considered the possibility of anything as ordinary as a movie. "I don't know.""...I know just the film. It's playing up near Columbia. We can make the eight-twenty show." It would probably be some artsy foreign film with titles, and after it, Vincent would ask her all kinds of deep questions about its real meaning and Sandy would either have to admit, I don't know or make something up, the way she used to when Lisbeth dragged her to films full of relevance way back when.________________________________"X-rated?" Sandy asked, when she saw the marquee."Yes, but very high class," Vincent assured her. "I've already seen it but I'd like very much to share it with you.""I've never seen a porno film.""This isn't porno, Sandy it's artistic. There's quite a difference." "If you say so." Sandy giggled, more from nervousness than anything else.Vincent bought the tickets and they went inside."The picture began. A girl was walking down the street. She entered a building, climbed up several flights of stairs, let herself into an apartment, went directly to the bedroom, undressed, and was raped by two young men who had been hiding in her closet. Or maybe she wasn't raped. ---Because she enjoyed it very much. ""Possibly the two young men were just playing games with her. But there was no time to try to figure out the plot because she was already with a third man. ""Sandy lost track of which body belonged to which player.... (Written by Judy Blume, 1978 edition 'Wifey')_____________________________Happy Thursday, Everyone .Go see a movie !!!!”
“Is there an audio version of this book? I can't even imagine hearing a voice reading the dirty parts. That must be really something--- hearing a real voice put some feeling into those parts. Just for laughs, I think, it'd be fun to listen.”
“Hilarious! An interesting story of an unconventional wife bored with routine and is full of wild imagination looking for change and fun!!”
“Loved the book. A bit naughty but couldn't put it down all the same.”
“Well, this book is completely unrealistic. It tries hard to be sexy, but is not erotic at all. It is more like a silly escape that tries to make you blush- but is so over the top it feels like it was written by a teenage boy! That being said..... I couldn't out it down. I had a long plane ride and this made the time FLY by...... so I must say, if you want a completely brainless read, super quick (Tons of silly dialogue) and a little bit naughty, well- this is the ticket.I grew up reading Judy Blume, and this takes me right back to the days of sneaking her books into my room and reading them quickly, so I wouldn't get caught.... this book has the same feel to it- only now I am a grown woman sneaking this thing around! HA HA! :-)”
“This looks good...how was it? I need a good, easy, mindless read. ”
