Didn’t Like It“that outcome is so unpossible - how can your stepmother and the friend who you're living with be the same person? everyone would recognize that, the hair color and length aren't the only indicator!” see full review » see other reviews » |

Amy M wrote this review Monday, September 15 2008. ( reply | permalink ) Was this review helpful? Yes | No“I had mixed feelings on reading this novel. At times, I found myself enjoying the languid, easygoing style of narration and pace of events. At other times, I found the novel loose, flabby and verbose. Christie's conversational style, charming in much of her work, often lapses here into mere verbiage. Also, after the beginning (a young woman visits Poirot, announces that she "might have committed a murder" and, without explanation, departs), nothing much happens until towards the end. And, Christie seems a bit out of her depth in writing about the youth of the '60s. However, the novel leaves a nice aftertaste. And is, in sum, worth reading. ”
