If I were to spend an afternoon with one of the characters, I would probably take them to see more of the planet and ask them questions about how it was in space. I would do this because the characters were in outerspace and i dont see myself going there anytime soon. I would also take them around the world because maybe changes have been made to the new model of the Earth and if the new planet is blown up again I would want them to have a better sence of the planet.
Switch is a great book for those who like out-of-the-box books. It is about a girl, Claire, who can, during a situation that contains a certain amout of energy, switch bodies with a another person In the book she switches bodies with a girl who seems so perfect, but she can't figure out how to switch back. Her grandmothers soul helps her figure out what todo. Meanwhile she learns many lessons because shes looking through the eyes of someone who looks like she is "picture perfect.

I liked this book becasue is was very well written and even thugh it is very improbable. The author made it seeem very real. It fits into the genres comedy and romance. I would suggest this book to anyone except guys might not like it as much as girls.

Ever since the whole issue of Justine Larbalestier's Liar cover, I've been keeping a look out for covers that don't match the story within.

Looking at the cover of Switch, I'm expecting some mystery, intrigue, a mad case of passion and rule breaking. Imagine my surprise when it turns out that there's nothing remotely that sinister about Switch. And that the protagonist, Claire, is a swimmer and thus has a swimmer's body.

Does the cover convey that? Nuh uh.

I find it hard to believe the the brunette on the cover would want to stay in the blonde's body. Nevertheless, Switch was a perfect light beach reach. It has depth and Claire was a very likeable character. I was rooting for her to be happy no matter which body she was in currently. I found it kind of unbelievable and convenient that she only switches body when there are thunderstorms and when she's asleep. Doesn't she ever take a nap?

Claire's grandmother is seriously a piece of work. When Claire's gone, she takes the chance to explore the world in her body. Seriously!

The ending was unresolved in so many ways. Some of the things seemed to be tied up easily. I wanted more interaction between Claire in her own body and her crush, to see how things would work out between them, but all in all, it's a cute story.

Claire Martin is your average 15-year-old girl. She has her loving mom (Dr. Martin) and her best friend, Beanie. She also has a big crush on her fellow swimming buddy, Nate. And of course the ghost of her deceased grandmother (Evelyn) who has been around since Claire was a baby, even long before that. She probably doesn't sound that average anymore, right?

Here's the real kicker: Claire is what she and her grandmother call a "Switcher." Whenever a bad storm kicks up in Claire's little beach town, she'll be pushed out of her own body in to another girl's body. But only a girl who was born close to the same time Claire was and that lives only around a mile or so away. So most of the time Claire switches in to a visiting girl's body. Just someone who is vacationing with her family. Overnight, Claire ends up back in her own body and wakes up back to her old self.

But at one point (during the day even) a little bit of static electricity sends Claire in to the body of a girl that her and her friend Beanie saw just the other day on the beach. She was obviously not a local from the looks of her, and she was watching two little boys. She was a skinny little thing in a bikini that barely covered her at all. She also seemed like a complete B word to both Claire and Beanie. Of course, she had all the attention from the guys, especially Nate. So when Claire is zapped into this girl's body (her name is Larissa) she is shocked, but at the same time a bit excited. She finally has a body that she loves and is actually able to show it off without looking ridiculous.

But when Claire wakes up the next morning she's still in Larissa's body. And now she's stuck watching these two attention-starved boys from basically dusk till dawn. But she has the attention of Nate and she's not about to lose it. What could a few days in Larissa's body hurt? Except for the fact that Larissa's soul is just floating around, while Evelyn is hanging out in Claire's body for the time being. Will Claire ever switch back to her own body? And the most important thing: will she actually want to?

This book was amazing! I pretty much couldn't put it down. I got so engrossed in it every time I picked it up. I could totally understand why Claire was debating whether or not she wanted her old body back. I mean, she finally had the attention of the guy that she has liked for so long. Who would want to give that up? And I loved Evelyn's character. She was hilarious. Always walking around as her ghostly self (when she wasn't in Claire's body, that is), smoking the same cigarette day after day. The ending was also really touching. It was just overall a fantastic book.

I highly suggest reading SWITCH when it's released. You won't be sorry.

Not much happens in Claire's sleepy beach town, but that's okay. All she wants is to hang out with her best friend, make the high school swim team, and convince Nate, the guy of her dreams, to stop calling her "Dude." And, oh—she'd really, really like to stay in her own skin.

Ever since Claire hit her teens, electrical storms have been making her switch bodies. Usually she's back to her old self in no time. But when something goes terribly wrong, she finds herself stuck as another girl. And not just any girl, but the icy beauty who has caught Nate's eye.

Suddenly Claire goes from being Miss Average to Miss Gorgeous—the model-thin blonde that every girl wants to look like and every guy wants to date. Will she ever figure out how to get back to her old life? More importantly, will she want to?

This book was good but not the best book I've ever read. It took a while to get to the point and was a little boring towards the beginning. I loved the ending though. I also loved the suspense. Another thing is that it would also get frustrating at times.

This is a "Be careful what you wish for" kinda novel. Claire the typical girl with shoulders as wide as the sea gets switch with the amazonian beauty that's called Larrissa. This is not her first switching, she has switch before during storms and a freaky experiment in science class, but it is the first time when she, herself, did not want to leave back all that is being given to her. What will Claire do? Be stuck for ever in the body of an amazonian goddess and leave its former owner to wander for eternity? or is she just gonna deal with it and leave all this perfect world behind?

The sentence that most stood out for me in this book was this:
"If a person loves you, shouldn't they see beyond the surface?"

Claire Martin leads a pretty regular life in the resort town Sandyland. She loves hanging out with her best friend Beanie and spending as much time as possible in the water, not to mention lusting after the hottest guy on the swim team, Nate. There’s only one thing that sets her way apart from other girls: when Claire gets too close to lightning or another electrical charge, her spirit will switch from her body to the body of the nearest girl born under the same moon. Usually, the switch is fast and Claire is back in her own body by the next morning. But when Claire accidentally switches into the body of a beautiful summer resident named Larissa, Claire finds herself reluctant to return to her old life; after all, her crush Nate is rather interested in Larissa. But after waking up the next morning still in this beautiful stranger’s body, Claire starts to wonder if she’s stuck as Larissa for good.

Switch is a fast-paced and interesting story. Though the idea of switching bodies may have been borrowed from Freaky Friday, it still made for a good story. Plus the fact that Claire couldn’t control when she switched or who she switched with was entirely unique. Sometimes, though, the characters were a little confusing. The flashes you get of Claire’s background don’t completely add up, Larissa change from being extremely snotty to nice isn’t thoroughly explained, and Claire’s grandmother Evelyn was always strange and mysterious. The moral of the story did seem to be taken directly from Freaky Friday, but I didn’t really mind it that much. However, I wasn’t left with a sense of understanding at the end; sure, Claire got that she should appreciate everything she had in her life, but the ending seemed a little cut off. I’m not saying that Switch was a bad story; it just could’ve been better.

I wasn’t completely taken with this story, but I did enjoy the plot. If you liked the novel and/or movie Freaky Friday, you will probably like reading Switch.
