Not the best reading list I've ever seen. Luckily it only cost a dollar on remainder.

Enough books to keep me busy for the rest of my life, when I add 1001 books to read before I die.

Given to me for my birthday by my brother, this book captured me from page one. It can be viewed as a reference book or a read in its own right. Taking you from the Classics (The Epic of Gilgamesh, for example) through to the modern day, it consists of short essays summarising the works of the writers written by the esteemed authors. With an extension covering even more writers and written in engaging, enjoyable and clear language, it's a book worthy of a prize place on your shelves!

Love this book. It's an excellent way to discover how you can round out your reading. It also happens to be an interesting read in and of itself.

This book has inspired my mom, my grandma, and I to gain a classical education. We are basically following their outline and list of books, and I feel already I am becoming more aware of the body of literature available. Although I feel they have left out some really important literature, this is a great place to start, and I appreciate their comments and information as I read along.
