It's no Godfather, but still very good. I like how they weaved Michael Corleone into the storyline, although unrelated to the main plot. Good action. Classic Puzo.

Mario Puzo's "The Sicilian" is quite simply a masterpiece. This is an epic story based on the real-life post-WWII Robin-Hood-like bandit Salvatore 'Turi' Guiliano. Turi Guiliano never intended to be a bandit, but fate would call on him to fight for all of those who were being exploited by the state, and more-so, by the mafia. Turi takes on the police, the army, the government, and the mafia; thus, becoming a hero on the island and around the world. The story explores the great friendship between Turi and his cousin, Gaspare 'Aspanu' Pisciotta; the support of family, and the aspiration of a great destiny. A great great read, recommend it highly. A true favorite of mine.
