Marsh weaves a clever murder, a traveling theater group and her beloved New Zealand into a wickedly entertaining mystery. If you like dark vices in a beautiful setting, this is for you.

I only finished half the book. For a murder mystery, it was fairly dull. It was hard to keep track of the characters and sequence of events. The main character writes down the sequence of events at one point, and keeps running through what happened, which shouldn't have been necessary.

The plot was good but not surprising. Far too much time was spent on who was where, when and with whom and for how long.

Excellent murder mystery. It had me guessing until the very end as to who the murderer was.

Vintage Murder is a great old fashioned mystery set in New Zealand. Written by a great mystery writer.

I'm on a Ngaio Marsh kick these days. This one is set (like the last one I read) in a theater. The theater's in New Zealand, though. I'm glad she decided to take the character to her homeland for a change. So far there hasn't been one of her books that I didn't like.
