This is one of my women's issues books. I love it. I can only say this is worth the time to read and I haven't waited to "wear purple". No woman should.

I love this poem this book is named after, and so does millions of other women. Isn't it amazing how one little poem has started such a wonderful way of looking at old age and having fun. Look at the Red Hat Society that started because of this poem. Some of the poems in this book are depressing, but like one eighty-year-old lady told me at church -- "Old age ain't for sissies."
