A 12 year old boy, Percy Jackson lives in Manhattan, New York. That summer Percy discovers that he is a half-blood, conceived by a god and a mortal. He learns his dad is Poseidon, one of the "Big Three" gods. Percy later receives a quest to find and bring back Zeus's master bolt. He and his friends, Annabeth and Grover, have just ten days to find the bolt and return it to Mount Olympus. They meet a lot of challenges on the way, but make it through. Grover, a satyr, earns his Searchers License and goes on his journey to find the great god Pan. Luke, the trainer of Percy, betrays him by trying to kill him, just as the Oracle said he would.
