I really enjoyed this book and the unique way sources and shields worked together and how they were brought together. I thought that the explanation for the world, how the world worked, was rather bizarre, instead of just placing them in a fantasy world, it had to be a quasi-futuristic world turned medieval again, but I thought rather forgivable.

I liked the characters and could even appreciate why they were named rather strangely. It was as if all of the nationalities in the world were handpicked, placed on a ship sent and then named their children thus creating the weird mix of names of this world. (Even if their names are rather distracting and odd, which says a lot for the book)

Other than that, I enjoyed the book. I liked the mystery, I liked the way that it kept you unsure about the political plots. About the way that you believed and at the same time want to change the system that you've known for a long time. The politics was light refreshing and the intrigue real enough.

As for the couple, though some people dislike Lee for not liking Taro well off the bat, I could understand that sometimes, people just get irrational dislike for some people, and that it's both Lee and Taro's burden to overcome it.

I really want to read what would happen next to this couple.

    Good, exciting and different.
Quickly read and hard to put down once you've started reading.

Can't wait to read the next book in the series! =)

A nice light read. Better than the second book in the series.

While the plot is a little predictable, there is something about the writing and characters that makes this book very hard to put down. I'll be buying moore in the series.

Wonderful, funny, touching, and platonic (though I have my suspicions that He would really like to change that- and if you read carefully you will too.) Sweet and yet tart. I recommend this series to everyone!
