Wonderful, funny, touching, and platonic (though I have my suspicions that He would really like to change that- and if you read carefully you will too.) Sweet and yet tart. I recommend this series to everyone!

A good and entertaining book, like the 1st in the series was.
Am definitely going to read the next in the series soon!

More fun fluff; it's an interesting world, but with the friction between the protagonists declining, there isn't too much to distinguish the series from others out there.

Shintaro Karish and Dunleavy Mallorough are Source and Shield. He (Taro the Source) channels the forces that cause emergencies (like earthquakes and hurricanes) on their world and she (Lee the Shield) protects him from being crushed. They’re bonded, meaning they can’t work well with anyone else, and if one of them dies, so does the other. They’re back in High Scape, which is a town that has lots of emergencies—but they haven’t had any in a while, except for the weather. They’re having blizzards in high summer. Then blistering heat. Then rain. Then—and weather is something the S&S folks can’t do anything about, but the locals are blaming them, and even rioting. Plus, low level aristocrats are vanishing. And though Taro’s given up his title, some don’t want to accept it. Particularly his witch of a mother. So we have riots, bad weather, family dynamics (because Lee’s mom is visiting too) and a possible murder mystery. Plus the simmering relationship between Taro and Lee. All in all, a book well worth reading.
