THE ACCIDENTAL DEMON SLAYER takes us into a world of the underworld where griffins are hot, sexy, scary and impeccable lovers. OH and witches family lines lead to demons slayers, with very very powerful skills....” see full review » see other reviews » |
Didn’t Like It“Kind of boring. It took me about 2 months to finish this whole book, because I would read a couple pages and then stop for a couple WEEKS. Don't know exactly why I wasn't into it (maybe I just don't like reading about demons and slayers and dragons) but I just could not get myself to sit down and...” see full review » see other reviews » |
“I have no idea what took me so long to get to this series! So very glad I did though. Paranormal is my main genre and I love finding a character like Lizzie. She is prone to prim and proper, making lists even for her 30th birthday party.
Then her grandmother roars in on her Harley and changes Lizzie's life for the very different.
Apparently Lizzie is a demon slayer and she didn't even know it....but the Red Skull witch coven definitely do....and so does a demon who wants Lizzie's powers.
But Lizzie has her now talking dog and a hottie shape-shifting griffin to help and take care of her.
Full of action and very funny with a tweak of romance thrown in, I look forward to reading the rest of this series. ”
“Liked it, easy to read paranormal adventure/romance. ”

The grandma on a hog was passable, the boyfriend who was using her to get his sisters back was tolerable, but the talking dog and the weird coven was the straw that broke the camel's back. The road kill and the way that the coven spoke, like it was a mix between a redneck and some wanna be mean biker gang was a bit too much. The dog had way to many scenes and I was glad for that short time when he was off in hiding with the biker gang.”

Meet Lizzie Brown. Uptight, until she meets her real family that is. She is from a long line of demon slayers, and on her 30th birthday, her long-lost grandmother has come to inform her of this fact. Now Lizzie is working with her grandma and a coven of witches called the Red Skulls to help fight a demon named Vald.
Lizzie is scared, uptight, clumsy, and yet brave at the same time. It's really fun watching her learn who she is, and really come into herself. And watching her interact with a super sexy griffin doesn't hurt either.
My favorite character in this whole book though is Pirate. Pirate is Lizzie's Jack Russel Terrier who just happens to talk. He's super funny, sweet, and hyper, and makes me want to know where I can get my own talking dog.
This book is fun, action-packed, and man is that griffin HOT! The interaction between him and Lizzie will leave you melting.
This is a great book, a super fast and super fun read! I have the second book on my bookshelf, and I'll be diving in headfirst soon!

“I really enjoyed this book, there were just a few writing things I wish had been cleaned up. This is the first in the series and I plan on reading more of them ASAP!”

I get she got thrown into this situation with no training, no idea of what she was doing, and rarely of what was really going on. But come on, she's thirty not thirteen, she was a little to naive for me. And she stays in her head way too much. I don't think Lizzie developed as much as she should have.
It seems to me that grandma is a little to free. I think Ant Eater was my favorite character.
I usually like talking animals, but Pirate... all I could think was put a muzzle on that darn dog.
Dimitri...Hot, bronzed, sexy griffin... need I say more.
All in all it was a OK book. It won't make my top ten list, but it was worth the read. I am going to follow through with the books, just to see if Lizzie and Ant Eater keep their banter up”
“I liked it! A fun lt. trip though the "other worlds"”

“I was a little skeptical at first. Started off a little slow but once you got into it , it got interesting. I enjoyed the banter between the principle characters. And I want a Griffin of my own now :) It was a cute book.”
