The Accidental Demon Slayer

by Angie Fox

It's never a good day when an ancient demon shows up on your toilet bowl. For Lizzie Brown, that's just the beginning. Soon her hyperactive terrier starts talking, and her long-lost biker witch Grandma is hurling Smuckers jars filled with magic. Just when she thinks she's seen it all, Lizzie learns she's a demon slayer-and all hell is after her.
Of course, that's not the only thing... (read more)

I thought the storyline was *cute." The characters of Lizzie, Dimitri, and her grandmother was comical (especially the pink Harley driving grandma or the scene were she was attempting to master her weapon). I was not expecting this book to be a literary genus since it was not advertized as such, but I do recommend it as a light-hearted read for those of you out there that perfer to just kick back and relax.
Yuck...way too much roadkill

This book had some interestign points and woudl have been much betetr if it was not baced upon a witch coven that has its power based upon roadkill and dead animal gooo being rubbed on faces, cooked and ingested, etc. It was just too gross - I just could not get past that - and it overshadowed the other strong points of the book.
An enjoyable read from start to finish!

The Accidental Demonslayer is a fun read from start to finish! The antics of the biker witches are hilarious at times. I often found myself laughing out loud (and then receiving strange looks from my husband or co-workers, depending on where I was at the time). If you enjoy paranormal romance that is up-beat, fun, and rather humorous, then this book is definitely for you! However, be warned! You won't be able to put this book down once you start reading... and when it's over, you'll be anxiously awaiting part 2!

I love paranormal stories, and I love a great sense of humor and quirky characters in them. However, that must be done well or it's just irritating- sadly that's what "Accidental" was for me. Our "heroine" literally has NO personality, she's kind of a stand-in who reacts to things however the author thinks she should to progress the scene- whether it makes sense or not.

It's established very early on that she doesn't like her dog much, then she spends the rest of the book screaming for him if he's ever not in her arms at the moment- why does she start caring so much out of nowhere? She's dull, she's not smart and the whole "love interest" angle was pathetic and poorly done. She never uses her brains or courage, and her "gifts" are literally slapped onto her at the last minute- and of course she can easily use them, even though she didn't show any basic motor skills or common sense before. I liked her sassy grandma, and I only wished SHE was the star in this book. The whole thing reeks of being slapped together quickly, and I suspect it may have been to cash in on the success of paranormal and "cozy" funny books. I'll stick to Sookie Stackhouse and Queen Betsy instead of Lizzie Brown for my funny/sassy/smart paranormal heroines.

I felt that this book was stupid. I have never said that about a book before. On the other hand, I can see how romance lovers might like it??? The cover is also very cute. However, I think you have to be a very motivated reader of the silly supernatural, to like this book.
