As a follow-up to Protect and Serve, I became even more in love with the Hightower brothers and their love for their women!

Definitely a great story. I loved Joel's surliness and Samantha's sharp tongue. They were a couple that kept me interested. Can't wait to read about the other two Hightower men!

Here’s what critics are saying about this novel:

“Gwyneth Bolton certainly doesn’t skimp on the heat level in her newest release MAKE IT HOT. Samantha and Joel have spirited natures and seem to take great delight in antagonizing each other. They’re a fun couple to read about and kept me smiling through each ‘confrontation.’ Samantha’s relationship with her mother really struck a chord with me. So many people choose alcohol to dull their pain of loss never realizing the devastation it causes their loved ones. There’s plenty of action, fun, and emotional context to ensure readers’ become immersed in this storyline and remain enchanted through to the end. The Hightower brothers are honorable, loyal men who make a girl dream of finding her own hero.” ~ Chrissy Dionne of Romance Junkies, 5 Blue Ribbons

“Bolton combines the sexy allure of the Hightower family with the determination of Samantha Dash. Samantha turns her sad past into a promising future as she learns to forgive and finally embrace the idea of new relationships. Joel learns how to enjoy life while opening his heart to others. The supporting cast of characters adds humor and drama to the storyline. MAKE IT HOT is a fast paced, easy to read romance that will make you talk out loud to the characters (Aunt Sophie especially) and remind you why family gatherings are so enjoyable. Hopefully, Bolton will keep supplying us with loving stories of the Hightower’s for years to come.” ~ Monique Bruner “The Delta Reviewer” of The Real Page Turners, 5 Stars

“MAKE IT HOT will make you feel the heat between Joel and Samantha as their relationship goes from patient/client, friends to lovers. As their relationship developed, both characters were forced to make drastic decisions about their careers and about themselves. I enjoyed the first book and found this one to be twice as entertaining. This is a series that should not be passed over and I eagerly wait to read the next story.” ~ Priscilla C. Johnson, APOOO Book Club, 4.5 Stars

“A tough hero, a sassy heroine and a great story of triumph over adversity in MAKE IT HOT, by Gwyneth Bolton. When firefighter Joel Hightower is severely injured on the job, he discovers just how much his career means to him. As part of a family of firefighters and police officers, he cannot fathom doing anything else. Physical therapist Samantha Dash works hard to assist her patients while dealing with her own personal drama. Guilt inflicted by her alcoholic mother concerning her own police officer father's death has caused her to shy away from men with dangerous jobs. When Joel is assigned to Samantha, he's a bitter, grouchy man. Can they overcome their obstacles to be together?” ~ Debbie Sims, Romantic Times Book Review, 4 Stars

    The Perfect MATCH

WHEW...The heat is definitely on in the “Hightower Honors” series. The second installment is just as CAPTIVATING and heartwarming as the first. Joel Hightower is definitely a FORCE of NATURE. The story opens with Joel being seriously injured while fighting a fire. Samantha, a physical therapist, is instantly drawn to the injured firefighter and prays he makes it through his ordeal. Samantha is nervous and thrilled when she learns she'll be Joel's physical therapist; that is until she has her first session with him, she quickly discovers that although he's tall, dark and sexy-as-all-get-out, he's definitely NOT the playful, mischievous prankster she imagined, but a surly, EXTREMELY opinionated stud. And Joel has finally meet his match, because Samantha is not only beautiful, but she's also a sassy, VERY opinionated force to be reckoned with, and she gives him tit-for-tat. While their tempers flare and the sensual sparks fly, and they engage one another in witty and funny verbal debates, the flames of desire slowly flare to a FULL BLOWN mutual attraction that can not be contained. But will Samantha remain true to her promise to NEVER love a man with a dangerous job or will the intensity of Joel's love be too HOT for her to fight?!! My heart went out to Sammie and Joel with ALL the intense DRAMA and challenges they had to endure throughout this novel. This installment has quite a few heart-wrenching and tender moments. And once again, the cast of characters is quite entertaining. Can't wait to see what havoc Aunt Sophie will cause next, she is definitely a piece of work. Looking forward to reading what Mrs. Bolton has in store for Lawrence and Patrick.

    My Review:

Now I must say the title of this book says it all...It surely made me hot...lol. Ms. Gwyneth Bolton as I say to my mother after a good meal..that she really stuck her foot in this one!!! I loved reading about the tall and sexy Joel Hightower and his spitfire Samantha Dash. They go through many challenges that ultimately draw them to one another for a love that is so hot it explodes all over the place. Both Joel and Samantha must make some very difficult decisions about their futures for love. I must say, Aunt Sophia is something else, and with each Hightower book, she seems to be getting worse and worse...lol! This is a MUST read!! Absolutely the best series I have read since Brenda Jackson's Medaris Clan, which I absolutely loved!

Tragedy That Lead to A Romance

In the second installment of Gwyneth Bolton’s Hightower Honors Series, readers are introduced to Joel Hightower, in Make It Hot. Like the other male members of his family, Joel has made a career as a fire fighter. Not only is he an outstanding fire fighter, he is also a community activist, little league coach, and big brother. Tragedy struck when Joel was seriously injured and the entire city of Paterson, New Jersey waited to see if he would survive.

As he recovered from his injuries, Joel was scared that he would not be able to return to the career that he loved. Joel began physical therapy with Samantha Dash. Samantha is young, attractive and strictly work-oriented. Even though she was attracted to the handsome fire fighter, she refused to give in to the heat that was building within her every time he walked into a room.

Make It Hot will make you feel the heat between Joel and Samantha as their relationship goes from patient/client, friends to lovers. As their relationship developed, both characters were forced to make drastic decisions about their careers and about themselves. I enjoyed the first book and found this one to be twice as entertaining. This is a series that should not be passed over and I eagerly wait to read the next story.
