Samantha Dash is a well educated physical therapist who has had her share of bumps and bruises. When she is in the ER when a fallen fireman comes in, she can't resist just taking one little peek at him. Then it seems as if Joel Hightower is everywhere she turns. Samantha can't get him out of her head. She even goes as far as fantasizing about what he is like, despite his dangerous job. Then she gets a chance to find out. Joel becomes one of her patients, and the fantasy is replaced with reality. Joel Hightower is angry. He wakes up in the hospital after being injured doing what he was put on this earth to do-fight fires. Joel is determine to do whatever it takes to get back to the job he loves, even if that means dealing with the most opinionated physical therapist in the world. Sometime during their heated sessions, Joel realizes he has to have Samantha in his life. Not only is he trying to deal with the possibility of not being able to continue the Hightower legacy, but he also has to figure out a way to make Samantha his.

Make It Hot is another Hightower keeper. Gwyneth Bolton has a style that causes you to become engrossed in her stories. Her style of writing just flows and her books are such easy reads. This is the second book in the Hightower series and she still finds ways to keep you wanting more of those Hightower men.

This is the second installment of Gwyneth Bolton's Hightower Honors series. Let me just say that I was not disappointed. Ms. Bolton has again crafted a wonderful story. Samantha and Joel are immediately attracted to each other when she becomes his physical therapist after a serious work related back injury. However, obstacles such as Joel's fear of not being able to return to a career he loves and feelings of being inadequate as a "whole" man, along with Samantha's refusal to date, let alone fall in love with a man in a dangerous career are major road blocks to the couple's happiness. Not to mention Aunt Sophie's meddling...again.

I also enjoyed the other characters from the first series Protect and Serve making appearances in this story. If you are in the mood for a HOT romance, then you'll enjoy Make It Hot!

This book is Hot! I love the "Hightower" series. I enjoyed Joel and his ability to go after what he wanted....Samantha. Even though he faced the possibility of not going back to being a firefighter, he did not let his pride stop him from falling in love. The author did a good job of finding the "spitfire" that could stand up to a man like Joel and the hateful Aunt Sophie. The chemisty was amazing and the love scenes sizzled.

It was also good to catch up with Penny and Jason from the first series. I am looking forward to the next Hightower man falling in love.

Amazon Rating: 4.5/5

In the second installment of Gwyneth Bolton's Hightower Honors Series, readers are introduced to Joel Hightower, in Make It Hot. Like the other male members of his family, Joel has made a career as a fire fighter. Not only is he an outstanding fire fighter, he is also a community activist, little league coach, and big brother. Tragedy struck when Joel was seriously injured and the entire city of Paterson, New Jersey waited to see if he would survive.

As he recovered from his injuries, Joel was scared that he would not be able to return to the career that he loved. Joel began physical therapy with Samantha Dash. Samantha is young, attractive and strictly work-oriented. Even though she was attracted to the handsome fire fighter, she refused to give in to the heat that was building within her every time he walked into a room.

Make It Hot will make you feel the heat between Joel and Samantha as their relationship goes from patient/client, friends to lovers. As their relationship developed, both characters were forced to make drastic decisions about their careers and about themselves. I enjoyed the first book and found this one to be twice as entertaining. This is a series that should not be passed over and I eagerly wait to read the next story.

The Hightower men return in the second installment of this series. Joel Hightower is seriously injured in a warehouse fire leaving the family distraught. Samantha Dash, single physical therapist, is on duty upon his arrival. His eyes captivated her even though he couldn't see her because of the trauma and pain. It was divine intervention that 6 months later Joel would be referred to Samantha's clinic. Their first encounter was hectic at best. Over the next few months their competitive spirits got the best of them and arguing became the norm. Will either of them be able to let down their guard enough to see love in their future?

Bolton combines the sexy allure of the Hightower family with the determination of Samantha Dash. Samantha turns her sad past into a promising future as she learns to forgive and finally embrace the idea of new relationships. Joel learns how to enjoy life while opening his heart to others. The supporting cast of characters adds humor and drama to the storyline. MAKE IT HOT is a fast paced, easy to read romance that will make you talk out loud to the characters (Aunt Sophie especially) and remind you why family gatherings are so enjoyable. Hopefully, Bolton will keep supplying us with loving stories of the Hightower's for years to come.
