The assertions made within the book about the state of modern journalism "feel right", but Davies falls into the same trap as those he criticises by not including references. This means that the majority of the work is essentially unverifiable.

    A book that needed to be written, but maybe another round of editing could have removed this significant short-coming.

    As with my previous entry, I read it a while back (Shelfari doesn't always have the books I read straight away). It was an insightful read, especially regarding the rag they call The Daily Mail (a newspaper I have always found particularly odious).
