(I even remember some things he didn't write about, which I found sort of odd. For instance, he talks about being friends with Don Johnson of Miami Vice, but doesn't say that he appeared on Miami Vice with Power Station.) But this gave it all a fascinating new perspective, plus a lot of things I didn't know. And he can be funny! Informally written and a quick read. I enjoyed it. ”

For years I've been secretly annoyed (for some stupid reason) with Andy Taylor. But, my curiosity got the better of me and I bought and read it. I was pleasantly surprised. I did remind myself, as I read, to take the book with a grain of salt. When you read this, you must remind yourself that this is only one side of a five-sided story. I didn't find the book boring or anything. I did gain a bit of sympathy for Andy and what he went through in his formative years. The only thing about the book that bothered me was that there were too many exclamation marks used and he kept saying "to be fair to [insert name here]...". I was told he did not hire a biographer for this book. I think he probably should have. I did find myself chuckling that Andy thought HE had started the 'ripped jeans' fashion, though. I would say, if you were or are a Duranie, read this book. Just remember there are four more versions of this story to be told. Give it a go.”

I figured that this book was going to be nothing but Andy airing all of the dirty laundry to get even with a band he left, not once, but twice. If the book was like that, I didn't want to read it. But then I saw something lady_mishegas posted about the book and thought why not give it a shot?
I have to say that I was happily surprised that Wild Boy had a wonderful positive, honest tone. Andy was quite candid about the history of Duran, including his and other members' drug abuse. While there was nothing too shocking in the book, there were ton of interesting anecdote which kept me engrossed from beginning to end.
If you want to read about life inside Duran Duran, read this book. You won't be disappointed.”
