This book could have earned five stars but the ending was contrived and unrealistic. Michael Daley is one of the more lawyers handling impossible cases (I liken him to Victor Carl and Andy Carpenter by messrs Lashner and Rosenfelt) and many of his exchanges with his ex-wife Rosie are priceless.

This story focuses on the suicide or murder of a senior partner in Daley’s firm. If it is indeed a murder, the main suspect is Daley’s friend Joel Friedman, who was passed over for partner...
