I had tears on my eyes when I finished reading this book. Ms. Baker has an artistic way of putting together the puzzle pieces that are the poets and dreamers who are known as The Beats. It is as if one is quietly taking part in their conversations and daily lives. Thank you for offering this intimate access into who they all were. All the other books I have read on the Beat Generation pales in comparison to this biography. I cannot, also, help but wonder what became of Ms. Hope Savage...
