“I likeed the third one the best, and the second one the second best, and the first was the worst. I liked the third because it had the most detailed, and the ending was okay. One of my favrite series of all time. ”
“Very interesting characters, and a nice involving storyline. But I did get turned off by the overdose of religion. I think, for a change the film might be more interesting.”
“I enjoyed this series but all in all I thought some of the ideas and themes were creepy. I don't think this is for kids and I'm not sure using a children's/young teen audience to bash the Church or your ideas of organized religion is in any way fai (although I find myself agreeing with some of these opinions.) And was anyone else a little put off by the intense love relationship between the two main characters at the end of the books? ”
“That's one of the many reasons why I love this trilogy. Beautiful shades of grey. No one is 100% good or evil, all the characters have defects and virtues and change through the course of the books. ”
“I defy you to find any character in these books who is absolutely 100% evil or good. You'll find no Sauron, no Dracula, nor Optimus Prime here.”
“Good series, I know alot of people don't agree with me but the last one was my favorite, the story was more detailed. The first one was kind of boring, because it took a while for the story to take off. ”
“Author's intentionI thought this series was remarkable, quite a reading expereince. Aspects of it left me breathless, especially the ambivalet battle to dethrone "god" and the whole "soul as a creature" notion. Then I read an interview with the author in which he said his purpose in the series was to discredit Christianity and undermine the faith of kids raised in the Christian faith.I didn't find my faith undermined, and I am curious is other readers could detect this point of view.”
