    This was an excellent book!

    Synopsis from Larrisa Ione's website:

In a place where ecstasy can cost you your life…

She’s a demon-slayer who hungers for sensual pleasure—but fears it will always be denied her. Until Tayla Mancuso lands in a hospital run by demons in disguise, and the head doctor, Eidolon, makes her body burn with unslakable desire. But to prove her ultimate loyalty to her peers, she must betray the surgeon who saved her life.

Two lovers will dare to risk all.

Eidolon cannot resist this fiery, dangerous woman who fills him with both rage and passion. Not only is she is avowed enemy, but she could very well be the hunter who has been preying upon his people. Torn between his need for the truth and his desire to find his perfect mate before a horrific transformation claims him forever, Eidolon will dare the unthinkable—and let Tayla possess him, body and soul…

I can't remember why I chose to read this book. However, I'm so glad I did though!

This book was nearly as good as a J.R. Ward Blackdagger book! It was packed with action.

Tayla is a demon hunter. Basically, she kills anything that's not human. Why? Because one raped and murdered her mother right in front of her. One night she gets ambushed and rescued by..... demons! She gets taken to a demon hospital run by sucubi demons. Lots of lusting ensues, a few explosions, lots of fighting, and of course sex.

The male lead character is Eidolon, who I called "E" because, really, how do you say that name? Eye-doe-lon? Eye-doo-lon? Any how, he's a kick ass doctor who's on the verge of complete sexual corruption if he doesn't find his soul mate soon. He has two other brothers, one who is more of a liability than anything.

I'm sure the next book will be the story of one of the other brothers. YUP! The next book covers Shade's story: Desire Unchained (Demonica, Book 2) due out February 24, 2009.

    10/10!!!

    10/10!

I really enjoyed this book. For me, it was kind of like Stephen King meets Sherrilyn Kenyon. This book centers around a very special hospital, "General Hospital" for demons, vampires, werewolfs and the like. An interesting psychological love story, hot scenes, lots of action, and the story resolves itself nicely at the end. I can't wait to read the next in the series!

I really enjoyed this book. We step into the world of Demons in Pleasure Unbound. Meet Eidolon, one smexy Demon Doc who runs UG (Underworld General). E is an incubus who needs to find a mate before he goes through the final stage of s'genesis. If he doesn't, E will do nothing but shag just to impregnate other demon females. Already a highly sexually charged demon..can he resist the attraction to the Aegis demon slayer who has been brought into UG. Tayla is fighting for her life in more ways than one..can the demon hater find true love in scrubs. Great storyline, nice plot and it left it wide open for future books. In the first book we meet Eidolon's brothers Shade and Wraith who will each have their own books. Can't wait to read the sequel Desire Unchained about Shade and then Passion Unleased about Wraith. ;)

Pleasure Unbound is sort of like “ER” meets “Buffy the Demon Slayer”. In this book there is a whole different dimension that most humans are unaware of, that houses a wide range of demons and other mythical creatures. Some of these demons are able to leave this dimension and live among humans. Only The Aegis, a group of human warriors trained to kill demons, are aware of their existence. Tayla Mancuso is one such guardian. She is out fighting demons with her partner Janet and is severely injured in a fight with a demon. She is found and taken to a demon hospital where she meets Eidolon, the doctor and founder of the hospital.

Eidolon and Tayla are the most unlikely couple imaginable. Tayla has been taught that all demons are evil and it is her duty to wipe out as many as she possibly can, to ensure the safety of the rest of the world. Eidolon’s brother was killed by The Aegis and has nursed his hatred of them over time. To say that these two have major obstacles to overcome is quite an understatement.

This book’s strength lies in the intricate and original world building. I personally haven’t ever come across a paranormal that deals with demons and the medical field. It is an interesting combination. There is a lot going on plot wise besides just the romance between Tayla and Eidolon. Someone is torturing demons and harvesting body parts from them to sell on the black market. Eidolon thinks the Aegis is involved and Tayla is determined to prove him wrong. Tayla herself has been ill and uncovering her mysterious illness adds tension to the story. Eidolon has two brothers Wraith and Shade that have issues as well. Plus, there are a few others that you will just have to read the book to find out about!

As far as the romance goes it was just okay for me. Eidolon was good. I liked him, but Tayla’s personality was a bit too prickly for my taste. Of course, she had good reason, so I could let a lot of it slide. These two had so much to overcome it wasn’t until the last 100 or so pages that they finally got past their differences and started working together. Once they did, I enjoyed them a lot more.

One thing that I found slightly disturbing and a little jarring is the fact that these creatures are demons. They are not human and therefore do not always act human, nor are they expected too. Some species of demons have more humanistic tendencies than others. A few of the creatures are down right horrifying. The book is quite graphic and that may put a few readers off.

The main plot isn’t completely solved at the end of this book and it is obvious that this is the start of a series. It didn’t feel contrived though. It felt natural to have it end where it did. I am sure Eidolon’s brothers with eventually be getting their own stories. I will be one of many to check out the next installment.

This was the first time I have read anything by Larissa Ione. When it first came out I was debating to read it or not. Then a few friends told me how good it was. I'm really glad I decided to pick it up, because it was delight to read. Pleasure Unbound is an enthralling read. I devoured it about in three days. This is fast paced page turner. I had a hard time putting it down. If your looking for something for fresh and new Pleasure Unbound is it.

New series I found. Very good series based on the world of demons, but contains weres and vamps. Great book, simple but wonderful mythology, strong characters, good twists and turns. Looking forward to the next book due out in March 2009.

I usually dislike "demon" novels, but this one not only held my attention, it actually has me looking forward to the second one. It isn't exactlly an 'enjoyable' read-- as it fits more into the horror genre than the romance genre, but it was an interesting read. Ione used a base of classical demon mythos and built an interesting paranormal world of good and evil from it. The good and evil are not exactly where you might think to find it either... I am recommending this for anyone who liked early Anita Blake (horror factor) and Lynn Viehl (for interesting plot-twist-mixtures and intricacy of plotlines)!

I got this book b/c of everybodies rave reviews on Amazon and on some blogs that I troll around in. I have to say it was a little hard for me to follow. Great love scenes. Quite a bit of action. I am sure the next in the series will be great though. Ione did a great job of starting off a big series.
