“This was one of the least enjoyable books I have ever read. It was a tacky, gross, unromantic story that went from varying degrees of bastardizing of the Southern language to completely inappropriate language for a twenty seven year old female then added some very unattractive sex scenes that leaned more towards bestiality then anything sexy and ended with a betrayal of a thousand year friendship.
The only author that I've read who pulled the shifter/human mating was Christine Warren in "Big Bad Wolf". That was a hot scene!
The relationship dynamics that occurred between The Oracle and King Leonidas were more flowing than those of Ajax and Shayanna, which seemed stilted and awkward at the best of moments.
The underground sex scene, after Ajax makes a hole in the ground for them to hide in (not a well thought out solution to their problem in my opinion), is unappealing. Why Ms. Knight thought giving a detailed account of Shay groping Jax's intimate, feather covered parts is beyond me. Not appetizing in any way. I can understand the appeal of sex games in the air with the assistance of wings but only if his man parts are normal. I mean, come on... yuck!!
Sable, the demon seems to have quite the upper hand when fighting Ajax and I found myself wondering how he could have lived 2500 years when always getting his ass handed to him by the demons.
The catch phrases that were written during the sex scenes were laugh out loud funny and not in a good way. The wording made me cringe!
Thrown in are some strong religious undertones throughout the book and that sums up everything I do not want in a Paranormal Romance. ”
“Not a bad start to the series. There could have been more developement of the relationship between Jax and Shay. It seemed kind of rushed. I will read the next book in the series ”

Centuries after he and his Spartan brothers made their bargain for immortality, Ajax struggles to maintain his warrior's discipline. His only source of strength is his hope that he will soon meet the woman once foretold to him--the other half of his soul, Shay Angel. Ajax searches for his destined mate on the haunted streets of modern-day Savannah, but he isn't the first to find her. Shay, the youngest of a powerful demon-hunting clan, can see the monsters that stalk the steamy Southern nights--an ability that draws the deadly attention of Ajax's worst enemy. As Shay and Ajax race to solve a chilling prophecy--one that could spell Ajax's death if they don't succeed--a fated passion arises, threating to sweep away everything in its path.”

The heroes were the soldiers who fought with King Leonidas. They are ancient as is the oracle but they come to modern times to help the heroine. She is able to see demons and is the daughter and sister of demon hunters. This is okay. I'm really looking forward to King Leonidas' book.”
