Jamie James wrote this book after much research and travel to interview major characters. It is a true story and very well done. I felt as though I was right along with him on that final expedition. It has been reportedly slow for some readers in the beginning but well worth the push onward. I found myself pulling for Joe to live after he was bit, though I knew very well he would die.
