“The humor of this book really won me over. I'm a sucker for any book that can make me laugh. Bourdain's writing style is evident in this novel, another plus for those who enjoy his writing and hearing him speak. It's not the best book in the world, but it was entertaining for the dreary afternoon I read it through.

I also enjoyed the fact Bobby's girlfriend in the book was a pizza maker. “not a good book at all. nothing happens. no characters are developed. descriptions of bobby are at the beginning of each chapter; we are told what arrangement of black clothing he is wearing for the coming chapter. the dialogue is old and odd. the best thing about the book is it's cover art and that it has it's own red ribbon bookmark.”

“This book was really bad. I hate to say it, because I love Tony Bourdain, but this book really, really sucks. Imagine what you thought being a mobster was like when you were six. Now, sprinkle in some uncomfortably graphic sex scenes and some poor editing. Ta Da! You should read this book for one reason: so we can talk about how bad it is together.”
