“Book 6 in the Blackbird Sisters mysteries. Nora finds herself trying to find out what happened to Penny Devine. And, now that she is engaged to Mick she finds he is having "accidents" that could kill him. ”

Embodying both humor and suspense, in snooty society, is a laugh in itself, and the ridiculous predicaments that the supposed "upper class", get themselves into, is funny enough, to make anyone lol! Also, Mick's persistance and loyalty is quite admirable, and can make even the most conservative woman's mind wander. Wonderful and fabulous, this book is a must! ”

Still, although I jumped #5 in the cozy series and read #6 out of order, it's still an enjoyable good read to peruse with bits of humor and intrigue. I'll be reading #5, 7-8 later this year. What a great read in 3 days. ”

These books always have laugh-out loud moments and this book was no different. I thought that the stress and problems in Nora and Mick's relationship was a little too much. The ending leaves a little room for what will happen next with them. The mystery was an excellent one! I won't have figured out the solution in a million years!”

The twist at the end had me freaked out. I almost put the book down. I am so glad I continued onward though. To read my full review and some cute quotes from the book you can read it here on my blog. http://jennifertffq.blogspot.com/2008/09/review-crazy-little-thing-called-death.html”

I especially loved the ending of the book.”

Mick has moved into her old farmhouse and money pit. Nora is hanging on to her job as society reporter for a Philadelphia paper by a designer thread. Nora's job ensures she'll eat well, and thankfully she has vintage clothes she wears with a flair. Sadly, her sister Libby is determined to plan the wedding, offering a variety of themes. At a polo game, she meets up with a man from her past, Brazilian playboy and polo player Raphael Braga. Nora has a history with Braga, which we discover later in the book. Nora also finds a severed hand in the grounds, which puts a damper on the event. The family hosting the event, the Devine's, are sure the hand belongs to their missing sister. Penny was taken to Hollywood by their mother and became a child movie star. Potty and his sister Vivian remained at the estate and Potty eventually took charge of the family pharmaceutical business. Nora has lots of things on her mind, so she doesn't need the her sister Libby getting in her face about the wedding. Nora finds she is mentioned in Penny Devine's will, and inherits the woman's clothing collection. But is Penny really dead. The hand found was not a woman's hand. Nora discovers that Vivian, though an animal lover, doesn't always give the best care to her charges. Nora and Mick have a lot to discuss, and Mick is in danger as there is a price on his head. The end has something for everyone, and reveals a bit of Nora's past. Nora is an engaging character, and I love the fashion descriptions. The Blackbird family is a fun one, and hopefully will be around for a long time. Libby's children are some of the most unique children in mystery fiction. I can't wait until they grow up. ”

I am saying all this to say that although 'A CRAZY LITTLE THING CALLED DEATH' was not my favorite book in the series it is still very much a series worth reading.
Having said that, I found that 'A CRAZY LITTLE THING CALLED DEATH' was somewhat repetitive. There was nothing fresh in this storyline, the mystery was just okay and I am ready for Nora and Mick to move away from the stalemate their relationship seems to be in. Either they need to move on (hopefully not forever) and explore other options or agree that opposites attract and move their relationship to the next level. Also I am ready to see Nora's sister Emma developed a little further. She is such an interesting character and, in my opinion, is not being used to her potential.
I look forward to reading more of this series and seeing where these characters that the fans of this series have grown to know and love will end up but I am ready for Nancy to mix it up a bit and catch the readers off guard!
