“This is one of those novels that often generates a "love it" or "hate it" response. Marquez is known for his long, roundabout style of telling a story, which can frustrate new readers. If you choose to imagine the story being told to you in the shade of a tree in a tiny Columbian village over the course of a sleepy Sunday afternoon, then you may appreciate the whimsical tone. The story charts the lives lived in a village over 100 years. Life, love, death, birth and plenty of magic are...”

“I abandoned it. Boring, long; characters ran together. awful. loaned to me by someone who said it changed his life. needless to say, i disagree.”
