In preparation for the launch of the iPhone 3G, I decided to try to get into Inside Steve's Brain. This recently became one of the trendy technology books, presumably due to everyone's desire to be as innovative as Steve Jobs (or at least learn some of his special tricks.) I had low...

This book is a biography of a man that changed the way we use technology today.  As you read through this book you will see how he builds up a new computer company, and how he keeps it from going out of business.  This book is a little bit more than a biography because it has strong elements that help strengthen Apple and Steve, this makes for a much better and interesting story.  The author interviewed many people that formerly worked at  Apple and they give great opinions about him.  I highly recommend this book to people who enjoy technology, or just want to know more about Apple or Steve Jobs.

Good analysis about the strategy of Apple and how Steve Jobs influenced it. A small but very interesting talk about vertical integration and how you can compare this strategy to other companies in the tech sector.
Finally, I liked the ideas of putting at the end of each chapter a list of the important points, helping the reader remembering the take-aways from the chapter.

So far its a great read. Jobs is a hard man, but he is genius. His business ways are expeptional.

I had expected the book to cover more of the man — not the business of the man. Apple is a marvel of tech companies, but Apple itself is no Steve himself. That said, for what it is, this book is a reflection on the history of Apple Computer — their strong points and a few of their short-comings they've had to overcome. It is informative, and at times insightful.

On the other hand, most of the information is recycled from blogs. I know the information is interesting and reliable information, but knowing that I could've got the information if I'd been reading someone's blog for the past couple years cheapened the value of the book for me.

Last, I think the first half of the book is an appealing read. It has more to say about Steve and the formative years of Apple. The second half became hard to follow. I wasn't sure where it was all heading. I thought to myself that the last portion was trying hard to reach a goal number of pages. It lost it's flavor.

Afronta a inteligência do leitor...
