Loved this story of a group of young mothers who begin a writing group in the late 1960s. While their husbands and children remain the main part of their lives, these five smart ladies seek their own liberation through the written word. With the cultural (and countercultural) events of the 1960s playing like a newsfeed in the background, they write, honestly critiquing each other's work, and build an incredible bond of friendship that support them through marital difficulties, health issues, and the scary realities of the publishing world.

Nothing special, but it was a hearwarming story, if not quite believable.

I read this thinking that it would get better; I invested listening to 8 discs out of 9...I could not finish even at that late stage. Even though the setting and places and people are in my backyard -- it didn't help spur my interest in this book. It was like reading someones' diary for the day by day events.

Fun to read a book of women coming of age in the early 70's when I was in high school and unaware of all that was going on around me

I really enjoyed this book. A great book about friends. Nothing unusual in the plot but it was beautifully written.

Cheesy book. But I was in the mood for a cheesy one about women, friendship, and being a mom. Reminded me of my mom.

Liked it. Hard to get into at first but it later moved along. Interesting to think back on social taboo's and to recognize how far we have come.

I love books about long-term friendships, especially among people with diverse backgrounds and personalities. Wednesday Sisters is a relaxing, enjoyable read.
