“3 1'2 star rating.
Cotton Malone is a retired Justice Department agent who is said to have retired.
He's curious about his father's history. Forrest Malone was the captain on an experemental sub that sank in Antarctica with all aboard.
Cotton pulls in some favors and gets the records of the ship.
Soon after with numerous deaths in between, Cotton ends up working with twin sisters whose father was also on the sub. They want to learn of their father also. Their mother is an iron fisted woman who has promised the family wealth to the first sister who gets the facts about the sister's father.
In addition, there is one person who also also interested about this ship but wants to keep everything a secret. He will try to stop anyone from getting the information and doesn't hesitate when it comes to murder.
There is a puzzle that needs to be solved and this has to do with Charlemagne. Unlike some books that have a connection to history, this story maintains the suspense and excitement.
I also enjoyed Cotton as a character and the various settings of the novel.”
