At first you might think they are alike, because the story is told in the past and now, like Promise Not to Tell, but the plot and storyline are different. She draws her readers into the story and makes them care about the people and when someone says...” see full review » see other reviews » |
Didn’t Like It“Creepy. I like the way she told the story alternating between youth and current age like she did in Promise Not to Tell, but PNTT was somehow more satisfying.” see full review » see other reviews » |

If you enjoy a mystery then this really is a must read.”
“Although I really enjoyed this author's first book, "Promise Not To Tell", I just couldn't get into this book past the action of the first few pages. Also, the story jumped't from past to present. In the other book, I had no trouble following what was happening. IIt was clear cut and relevent. But, it just wasn't happening for me in this story.
A woman witnesses a little girl being kidnapped by someone dressed as a white rabbit. (In fact, she does not even realize at the time that it is a kidnapping.) Somehow, this is supposed to relate to memories of her friend and herself as children, a male friend named Peter, and a childhood Easter party when someone dressed like the Easter Bunny to entertain the kids. Was her childhood girlfriend the rabbit's first victum? Very confusing.
Perhaps if I had more time, I would have finished the book. As it was, I gave up.”
“Really good book”

After a few chapters it all becomes a lot clearer and from then on I thought it was a good read. I'm never into stories about abducted children very much, and this is a book about an abducted girl, but once you get into the story you understand that it is much more the story of the girl who is telling the story and what happened to her and her friends when they were small. It paints a good picture of the families involved and the way they lived and the relationships they had. Overall a good story and one I can certainly recommend.”
