“If you are reading this book simply because you saw the cover photos of these two young ladies and wonder how this could have happened, look a little deeper. The candid photos in the middle of the book clarify their similarities in appearance. Certainly, the Van Ryns had no reason to believe Laura was anyone but Laura- until they began finding reasons to think she wasn't. At several points I was bawling, especially at the irony the Van Ryns endured. It rates very high on the Kleenex Scale.
Now for the reason I give this book only three stars: somewhere in about the middle, this book turned the corner it had been threatening from Chapter One. The tragic story of two families turned into a book about God (and more God, with a peppering of some additional God just in case you momentarily forgot about God.) Somewhere along the way, the accident victims' mistaken identities became incidental to the families' two-hour prayer meetings (seriously?!?!), bible studies, missions, worship, and praise of God. While we're all entitled to our faith and lifestyle, it was just not what was expected of this book. In fact, I'm kinda angry that I'll feel guilty about giving only three stars to a book that clearly IS about God...which happened to include the tragic, ironic story of Whitney and Laura.”
“What a beautiful story of unwavering hope! Yes, it was shown by both families and love that brought the surviving young woman through with nurturing and care! I would recommend it highly to anyone!”

I also feel I deserve a partial refund since approx. 1/3 of the book was overboard in it's preachiness. If I wasn't confident in my own faith in God, I may have even been turned off to Him after reading this book. ”

What a heartful book with such honesty.
I recommend this book to anyone that wants to read about inspiration and hope during the most horrible and difficult of times.
