read Mark Levin's book and you will "know" differently!!...great read...”
“Wow! Levin has a way of putting his finger on the heart of the problem of tyranny, defining it, and showing how to defeat it with true liberty. He starts off defining the "Statist" and showing what his true goal is for our country. Then he shows how to defend our constitutionally guaranteed liberty from these power brokers. Lest you think this is a "Republican" book, know that Levin sees George Bush as a Statist as well as most of the democrats.
Not only does Levin talk about what's wrong with our current, out of control, power grabbing, fat-cat, monopolistic government, he tells us what must be done to fix it. His "Conservative Manifesto" in the back of the book is not only hilarious in it's opposition to and mockery of the Communist Manifesto, but it is practical and innovative in a traditional, common-sense sort of way. It defines what a true conservative ought to believe.
I really liked this book. It is positive and shows us what has made this country great and the potential to drag it back to the constitutional greatness the founders had in mind. There are great quotes throughout the book from the founders, de Toqueville, and many others who admired America and saw the potential of it's people.”
“So far, so good.
Levin lays it out in plain English.
What every American who CARES about America should be reading.”
“Levin's book is just right-wing talking points served up in a different format -- as the beliefs of "Conservatives" and how they differ from "Statists" (spoiler: conservatives are good, statists are bad), concluded by a bullet-point "conservative manifesto." Anyone familiar with hard-right conservative ideology already knows what's in it.
Levin's book could be called old wine in new bottles, but since Levin resorts to the same old misinformation to sell his brand of conservatism, the bottles aren't all that new either.

Another conservative "voice" explaining how the "libruls" are destroying the very fabric of human civilization. Oh my, whatever shall we do? Levin will certainly tell you. Diatribe after diatribe about how bad liberals or "statists" are, yet absolutely no references to any of his so-called points against "liberalism" so that his views can be checked. His main point? I've got mine, everyone else who may need a hand can go screw themselves and the government should just butt out. Social programs are for wimps - including social security, Medicare, etc. As is typical with screeds such as this, you need to have an internet link next to you while you are reading, just so you can check the veracity of the quotes Levin does not reference. Levin could best be described as a male Coulter without the humor. He argues in circles, starting out with a specific POV and by the end of his diatribe arguing the exact opposite.
This book would find a soft spot (?!?) in any Limbaugh conservative's heart. I suggest anyone else borrow the book from their library, that way you're not annoyed that you wasted your hard earned cash on this tripe. I did. ”
