I was so excited to read this book, but I totally agree with you.
I completely agree. Paolini doesn't seem to know when to stop writing.
I don't think so. The story is more about fighting. Eragon must develop into a strong dragon rider, and not in only strengrh.
I found this book trite, formulaic and unbelievably precocious. Christopher Paolini seems to have decided that the virtue of an author is dictated by the number of ridiculous similes he or she uses. Although it was fun to read, it was pure word masturbation. So yeah, I agree too. I think he really needs to go back to basics.
You should be an author! I like your description. I agree with you, even though I still really enjoyed the book. It is a little wordy.
It seems that it gets worse with every new book. And what was to be a trilogy is now a four book whatever. Still I will buy the last one, just beacause I have the other 3.
Eragon has a great story plot and has kept me on the edge of my seat. I have only read the first book, but I plan to read the others. I do not agree with you and I found this a great story.
I agree that it seemed he simply wanted to setup the next novel...it was a transition novel. Not much story because all of it should (it better be) in the last book. Also, James S: At times I just had to laugh at the use of unnecessary adjectives that he used. Take those out and the book could have probably been half the size.
I could not agree more! Too much story on a day in the life or Eragon, and I am about half way through it. I can not get into it - I've read his first two and this book drags. I've put it down and started reading a new author.
im just abut to start this book and im glad that someone didnt seem to like only for the fact that if i read this book that it did turn out as bad as u say then i am thankful but if i like it than i promise u i will laugh at u for being wrong
I liked the whole book, and since it was so long I had more time to enjoy it then with other books.
I would have loved his series if it was one 1000 pg book. He should read some Kurt Vonnegut. His short stories are incredible and his books are great to.
