It's a little hard to know anything about this book breanna d since it hasn't come out yet. There are a few spoilers on the internet, you just have to know where to look. The web site for the books is www.alagaesia.com. Go and look it up.
Thanks for the info mira_dourden!
Many U.S. libraries now have Brisingr on order, making it available for reserve. Get your name on the list early; I did. :) Release date was moved up to September 20th, a Saturday, to allow for midnight release parties on Friday night at many of the national book chains.
Been waiting for this book for so long.. Hope they release this soon... :)
it comes out on Sat. September 20, 2008.
Okay I have a question. Do you know if there is going to be more that just three books? Based on the covers I think that there might. The first book was Blue, the second was Red, and now this one has a Gold color each representing a dragon. But the King's dragon is Black. That leads me to beleive that there will be more books after this one. What do you think?
Yes, Paolini couldn't fit all the information in three books so now he calling it "The Inheritance Saga" instead of a trilogy. Which means my Eragon book (which was from the first print batch) and my signed Eldest book are now worth something considering they both say trilogy on them.
I totally cant wait!!!! I wonder when the date of release is in India, though.
I want to know what the release date for New Zealand is. I find the books are far more interesting than the movie.
true, most movie-adaptation of novels cut and change most of the interesting, but to most directors, useless parts. these parts are usually the one that give the book its bite.
hmm, i thought it was a worldwide release somewhere in september ... i think
this is going to be so awesome!
when is the release date? does anyone know for sure
Chris say that in the end of This book he is going to kill of another main character! Can you belive it?
(I learned this from a video on the internet of chris himself) Who do you think it will be? I think it will be Eragons elven teacher.
i though his spoiler vid was about the new enemy, not another main char. murder ...
there were three spoilers
the beginning of the book will start wid the death of a main character i think, i dun remember cause i saw it way back.
wil the book reach singapore??? hope it will be a worldwide sale...
this book is great
For those who still don't know, the official release date is September 20, 2008.
hey guess wat? u know how inheritance has gone from trilogy to cycle?! There mite be a 4th or maybe every FIFTH book! yay!! the more the better. and it comes out on sept 20 not 23. chris said that if he fit all of the details into brisingr its gonna be like 2000 pages long so there will be more to come. i cant wait to start collecting! and most of u probably know:
1. eragon will meet a god
2. brisingr will tell if saphira gets a mate
3. a significant charactor dies
4. someone gets pregnant (oh!!!)
5. in brisingr it will be revealed how thorn (murtags dragon) became as powerful as saphira in so little time
6. the cover picture is of glaedr
7. eragon's enemy likes to 'laugh a lot'
8. there is a big battle
9. more information about tornac
10. more information about arya
11. more information about ajihad
12. eragon MAY become leader of varden
13. eragon and saphira return to training
14. eragon gets the new weapon that solembum mentioned
15. more about drawf culture
16. eragon will speak his name into the vault of souls
17. revealed how spirits are summoned
18. more information about brom's lover
19. subtitle: The Seven Promises of Eragon Shadeslayer and Saphira Bjartskular
20. it will be revealed how galbatorix became so powerful and is able to cast such powerful spells with his body
ok it think 20's enough for today i may post more later i only know this cuz i got a special preview in this sweepstakes thing i may say more but i dont want to spoil the sirsprise for everyone but MAYBE ill say that...galbatorix dies!!!! just joking!!!! or maybe i wasn't...
Thanks for the info! How did you win the sweepstakes?
hey I have heard these spoilers by C.P. and I'm just gonna post my views on all of them and some of them aren't mine so if i'm right you must give credit to all the inheritance cycle fans out there. Feel free to challenge my answers please.
1. I personally think it will be one of he dwarf gods, most likely Helzvog, the god who created dwarves.
2.I will have to go on the popular theory of the 3rd egg but there is a chance it might be Thorn if Eragon can break Galbatorix's control ,or it might be that dragons exist elsewhere, but it could be that dragons exist elsewhere and Eragon and Saphira might find them, but that is probably the most unlikely of the three.
3.this one I am not really sure about but if I had to guess it might be Oromis or Nasuada. considering Oromis said he was going to die and Nasuada because she was almost killed once, next time might not be so lucky. Another reason is that C.P. hinted that her leadership might be upsurted that could fit if she died.
4.Well,this one is also hard to predict but the only possible solution is Eragon and Arya.
5. Knowing so little about magic I would have to guess Galbortix did something but wait till book 3 to get the real answer.
6.This one is just because Glaedr is Eragon and Saphira's tutor but again correct me is you think i'm wrong.
7.this one I really don't know without reading the book, but It might be a new shade like Durza execpt stronger and with a sense humor. Who knows? Stranger things have happened.
8. Well there's always big battles in this series and it wouldn't be the inheriance cycle without them.
9.This iformation would proably be about how Tornac came to be a fencing instructor and how me met Murtagh.
10.Again,this is probably about Arya's past and the stuff she did when transporting Saphira's egg.
11.I would guess more about Ajihad's past, mostly about his wife, where he lived, and what he did for
12.Yes,this is possible but even that is stretching it for the simple reason that Eragon has to finish training with the elves and defeat Galbatorix. I'm not saying that he won't,but not in the forseeable future.
13.Yes this will happen no doubt about it.
14. Yes this most likely will happen in Brisingr but, C.P. doesn't say exactly when it will happen so there is still room for debate.
15. Since Eragon is Durgrimst Ingeitum this will likely happen.
16.Again as with the weapon that Solembum mentions, this will most likely happen in Brisingr but maybe it won't, we won't know untill the book comes out.
17.This will either be taught to him by Oromis or by opening The Vault of Souls.
18. I believe this will happen because Brom's past is clouded in mystery and we need to konw some more about him.
19.This will most likely mean all the promises they made to Nasuada,Oromis,Roran, the dwarves,Elva and the ones he will most likely be forced to make in the future.
20.This is to confusing even for me, oh well can't win them all right. I guess I have to wait for C.P. to explain it like everyone else.
P.S. just and idea floating around the chat rooms that I heard, Eragon's is not really Morzan, but Brom!!! So tell me what you think about that one huh?!?! But if you think about it does make sense in a weird way.
check out my Inhertiance cycle group where you can post all your questions and comments about the books and I will try to answer them all.
Some of those wern't done in Brisingr but they will hopefully be told in the next one (which could possibly come in December..not sure though) he split the book in half but cant wait for next one!
Eragon doesnt meet a god brisingr cant tell saphira anything because it not a person remember Brisingr= Fire Solembaum wasnt talking about and actual weapon buti dont want 2 spoil it 4 pple im not going 2 say what Solembaum was talking about it has nothing to do with vault of souls saphira doesnt get a mate in brisingr and Eragon doesnt become leader of the Varden
THE ABOVE RELATES ONLY TO BRISINGR NOTHING FURTHER
Come on! Did you read it yet? Please tell me what happens?
oh ya and eragon swears to more oaths and may not be able to keep all of them and MAY get punished severly for his disloyalty
I have confirmed a rumor with my book sellers. Apparently Paolini wrote too much for the third book that there will possibly be a fourth book coming out that is the second half of what should have been the third book.
Does anyone know if this is the last book or is there going to be more?
Christpher Paolini originally said that this was only supposed to be a trilogy, but when he started writing Brisingr, he realized he was going to have to write one more after. So it looks like there will be four books instead of three.
P.S. Read it,..NOW!
Who has read it yet? I finished it!
wont ruin it for anyone :D its awesome!! but it is soo very sad....
it is awesome i finished it too
It's still on my bookshelf unread at the moment. I'm in the middle of an epic fantasy which I can't put down!
Did you have to say it was very sad, Enchanter? Sounds as if I shall need the tissues handy then!
I glad you enjoyed it though...you too xavier g!
I thought the book was little too long!! It was okay... I guess.... Only part I liked was the Sword forging part. What do you think?
YES four books! WHOOOPEEEEE
i havent read it but i'm i fan of the series
got a copy just yesterday. It was supposed to be released Sept 20th but unfortunately the shipment was delayed. I'm devouring the book right now. So far so good!!!
I was done with it two days ago. Its good. I don't know, I felt it was a bit slow, but his writing is better than ever and that's a pretty good reason to read it even though the plot wasn't as amazing this time around. Still, its *Eragon*, so gotta love it!
this book is amazing....
I'm not done yet, but I've been slightly disappointed in the plot speed all along. I'm not so attached to it that I can't just drop it anytime, which is sort of depressing to me. I think it could have been a shorter, more action-packed book.
Man I am so jelous I dont get it till my birth day "november 22"
oh thats really sad, by the time u get it, it will be on most of da libraries, soo maybe u can get it there :D
Really?! Wow.... my library JUST got this book so I'm lucky to have borrowed it first, or else it would've been out for AGES!!!!!!!!!!!!! *ages underlined*
Really thats sooo sad its a great book sooo awesome I loved it!
I finished this book about a week ago but this is the first time I have had to get on this site. I loved this book. It is exciting and very surprising at times. I really love this series and I cannot wait for the fourth(and final) book. I know it will probably be another five years before it comes out, but I really want it. Alot happened in this book; however, there is still a on that has to take place in the next book.
I finsished this book in three days
Hey, you have the same name as me. Cool! I loved this book too and I don't know how long I'll be able to wait for the next one. It better not take 5 years or else I will send a strongly worded letter to Christopher Poalini. Not really, but I will be very impacient. I wonder what the name of the last book will be.
I really liked this book, it was kinda slow at first, but then it was A-W-E-S-O-M-E!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This book is supposed to be awesome! I read wikipedia, and it is pretty good! If you want a hint of what might happen, just ask!
This book is pretty awesome. I liked Eragon and Eldest but i think this one was the best. This book was the most action packed of all the three. I kinda read it too fast and now cant wait for the next one to come out, it probably wont come out for like 2 years. does anyone know when it comes out?
I LOVED THIS BOOK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I WAITED TWO YEARS FOR IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! EVERYONE SHOULD READ IT!!!!!!!!
just make sure you read Eragon and eldest first!
Didn't like it as much as I had hoped. Too few things were revealed, and things that I thought would turn out to be something amazing....like Solembum's advice, was cut down to ordinary and mundane.
Will be waiting for the fourth one with anticipation though.
i plan to read the book waited till it dropped in price abit, and when it came to it covered it with book tokens so well chuffed. just gotta get thru a few other books bending and then wont see me fore a good weekend :P
Has anyone heard anything about book four? I know it is really early to even be thinking about it but people keep asking me so if anyone hears anything please let me know.
the book ended on such sad note =(, all in all it was a good read although i liked the other books better
thats sort of an understatement
I really enjoyed all the books in the Inheritence Trilogy(Cyle). I was waiting for the third book for more than a year thinking that it would finally have the ending to the series. I heard that when Paolini finished the third book it was so long that it was divided into two separate parts. Can anyone confirm this?
It's true, he only meant to make three, so he changed it to a cycle.
I was actually kinda sad that there wasn't an ending in the third book. I tore through every page trying to figure out what was going to happen, and I was surprised at some things, but it definitely wasn't what I expected.
Duh, You RETARD if it's a cycle thn it's not 3 books, but 4.
yeah, he has. one more is coming ot, the one with the ending.
Yes he has. I've also got the third book and I've read it.
I read that on the website, so I assume there will be another one, I would hope so I was expecting a proper conclusion!
I agree, the ending really made me deppressed. But it just seemed like the right way to end such a hard story. This one was my favorite, though I would apperciate it if it told us more. (I didn't like how easy it was to kill the second shade. He didn't do the best describing waht was going on)
i loved this book! i didnt like the ending either .. but it made me want to read the fourth book sooo badly! anyone know anything about it?
yes i agree. i think that he was runing out of pages so he started to rush everything. but still i wish that he had given more explanation for things.
well if u think about it the reason the second shade was so easily killed was because, A. Eragon is waaaaaaay more skilled since he fought durza B. he had Arya with him so that made it way easier. Anc of course C. he had Brisingr which was better suited for him than his last weapon.
I did like the book a lot, but the way it changed characters so often confused me. All in all, it was pretty good, I just wish there was more info in it. And I didn't like the ending one bit!
i did not like the ending either. i think that right after Eargon left the Dwarfs that he started rushing everything and things happened too quickly and there was less explanation for things.
I havent read this book but I am planing on reading it soon. Is it any good?
I don't know why don't you use some energy and LOOK for the ratings and reviews.
Are there any major changes in terms of the writing? I ask because I ddin't really like Eragon that much but a friend says it gets better. I guess I'm trying to decide whether to stay with the series.
What I didn't like was that I thought too much was borrowed -- concept from Dragonlance, plot from Star Wars, names that are a little too much like LOTR, etc, and that I thought the writing was choppy. I'm wondering if I should expect any of that to change.
Eldest gets kinda slow, but once you get close to the end it gets very good.
As you get into Eldest you will find that there are still some more Star Wars similarities but I have been able to et around them. Like Jacob said, the plot of Eldest does go kinda slow in the beginning but gets better. I found myself wanting to get past the Eragon parts and read the Roran parts more. Though Eragon's parts are slow, boring, and take forever it is all in the character building. I do feel that CP could have sped some of the parts up a bit, but hey he is young and still developing as a writer. I hope you decide to continue reading the series, it is one of my favorites.
I think the Inheritance Cycle is one of the best collections I have ever read. Yes, there are some parts that are similar to LOTR, but come on... can you come up with a totally, 100% new fantasy storyline? Christopher Paolini is a very talented, descriptive author, especially considering how young he is! His books are engaging, entertaining, and thought-provoking. The ending of "Brisingr" was very sad, but I like that he doesn't wrap everything up to be all hunky-dory in the end. I feel that the ending was appropriate to the story, and I can't wait to read the final book (where, contrary to what I just wrote, I REALLY hope that at least Roran and Katrina find their happily ever after!) to find out if all of the phrophesies come true or not.
I loved this book.It answered many questions that any body might of had ifrom the first two books and brought up some more. The only thing that I didnt like was that Oromis and his dragon dies .I liked the fact that Brom was actually Eragons father!!I amn definately looking forward to Christopher paolinis next Book
it was an amazing book
i wish that guy wid the golden dragon din hav to die
i forgot his name buht he was awesome
that pissed me off
buh overall pretty amazing
This is my favorite series of all time. Can't wait for the 4th book to be released.
I know everyone says that this book is a mix of a lot of fantasy books, but personally, this is one of the best series I've read. I've realized that it has bases from The Wheel of Time, Lord of the Rings, and Wizard of the Grove, but I think they've been mixed well together and sn't that all that matters?
Just started it - will come back when I'm done with it. Hope its as much fun as the last two.
This book was amazing, but i can't wait for the next one and see how it all plays out.
I've just read it and can't wait for the fourth book to come out. Does anyone have any idea about it???
If you haven't yet, go to the website www.shurtugal.com and check out the section about the fourth book. It's really interesting and i guarantee it will get you excited for the last book!
ok, what do you think will happen to Murtagh. I hope he turns good!!
I too but I guess he is already good. He just doesn't have a choice....
I hope he becomes good again! I think he has the potential to, too. And I'll totally be upset if he doesn't. xD
i think he will be killed by eragon, saphira, and the elves
i think murtagh is gonna be killed in the act of saving eragon because he was never truly evil he just thinks he is
This is a really good book. I want to read the next one too (:
ryan k, I also love Brisingr! I'm Cassandra C a 4th grader.
What do you think is going to happen in the forth book? Who thinks Arya and Eragon are going to get together? Who is excited for the forth book? I know I am! Is Murtagh going to help Eragon kill Galbatorix, is Murtagh going to change his true name and be free of Galbatorix? Or is Murtagh going to die?
I think Eragon will kill Galbatorix with the help of the elf magicians. Saphira and Eragon will collect the Eldunari from Galbatorix. Once Eragon defeats Galbatorix I think Eragon will become the new king of Alagaesia. I hope Arya and Eragon will get together. I think Murtagh will change his true name and be free of Galbatorix, help Eragon and Saphira collect the Eldunari and help kill Galbatorix.
Is Roran gonna get a dragon like Eragon and Murtagh and if so why?
I think that's likely because it'd be like Eragons brothers all dragon riders be Orik and Arya are also candidates.
I think Murtagh is gonna help Eragon kill Galbotrix when he changes his true name
I think that the vault of souls they mention in the book may contain dragon eggs and after Eragon opens it, he and others will become dragon riders and get together to kill Galbatorix. Or maybe Eragon discovers Galbatorix's real name and they don't have to fight... but that would be a huge let down.
this one looks wild
Sometimes I wonder is something is going to happen between Eragon and Nasuada, instead of Arya... Eragon's prophecy said he would have a crazy romance with royalty, and they both are... But then again I think Arya secretly loves him, but is confused and torn because she can't distract him from his purpose and he is young and the only good rider to right the wrong... Yet whatever, the fantasy and action/adventure is much more exciting. I can't wait for the last book. It better come soon.
My gut feeling is that Eragon will live to regret supporting Nasuada, and I would not be surprised if he ends up battling her. The reason is that as long as Nasuada is leader of the Varden, Eragon will be second fiddle. How many heroes have you seen who wind up in second place?
I think the Vault of Souls is going to be lost Eldunarís of the old dragons, and the dragons of the past will join forces with Eragon and Saphira to defeat Galbatorix, and at some point Murtagh will finally change his true name then fight for the good.
nice idea i really like it
Wow, there seems to be a lot of good theories here. I agree about the Vault of Souls probably being a stash Eldunaris, it would definitely make sense. I am still unsure if Murtagh is willing to change his true to maybe be freed of Galbatorix, if he is not able to get to Eragon before the king finds out it cannot end well. I think it would be nice if the last egg hatched for Roran, but I don't know if that would be a little too much to expect, at least he will have Katrina and their baby.
I agree ... the vault of souls will be an immense store of Eldunaris that will place Eragon on equal footing with Galbatorix.
I love the ending of this book. Its amazing. LOVED IT!!!!!!!!!!!
Is the fourth one EVER going to come out? How long does it really take him to write a book? Just torturing us all!!!
its been 3 years i want the fourth book please!!!!!
Mariah Hughes is sitting next to me! :D that had nothing to do with eragon but im excited.
Do u all noe sumthing?????Eragon's gonna die in d last book......My most trusted nd reliable source tells me so
It bugs me how everyone thinks that in the fourth book there will be a green dragon. It might be orange or how do you know there even will be one? But I really love these books and I`m obbsessed!!! :D
correct me if i'm wrong, but didn't the King have a green egg in his possession? Or something like that. I know there was a mention of a green egg because I read it online but didn't finish the series yet.
Christopher Paolini confirmed that it would be green. It's one of the few things about book four he let us know very early on.
What is this book about?
pretty much dragons and magic stuff like taht
A continuation of the previous series. Don't read this one first though, you won't get anything.
How does the blurb about Saphira and Eragon making Seven Promises go with the book? They don't make any promises.
