He's a master of self-deprecating humor (and of deprecating others, for that matter). I've been listening to the CD version, with him reading it himself, and I encourage others interested in his works to do the same. His delivery enhances what's already funny in print. Lots of gems here. Great stress buster, if you're in need of it. :-)
