This book is about a capitol who send one boy and one girl from each district, between the ages of twelve and eighteen to participate in the annual Hunger Games, a fight to the death on live TV. Every single second of this dreadful event is recorded twenty four seven and broadcasted across the nation. Sixteen-year-old Katniss Everdeen regards it as a death sentence when she steps forward to take her sister's place in the Games. Katniss has been close to dead before. For her, survival, is second nature. Without really meaning to, she becomes a contender.

The hunger game is no fantasy story, this is real. Everday people around the world are forced to make choices tha Katniss makes. Many of them are her age and younger, making i all the more tragic. Children ad younger teenagers must fight like Kaniss fightsand die like her friends die. People cannot change all the circumstances, but we can effect some of them.We can believe that change is possible if we are willing to rik the statu quo.

the book can basically be summed by "survival of the fittest", with a twist at the end of the game when the competitors outsmart the rules

it was a great book and very descriptive. Collin's captures the scenes in her scene sketches with a perfect point of view to make you feel like your in the arena .

Well written and well played. An excellent book that indicates how fast a society can fall and fail.
