A lot of what to do, but not much how to do it.

Christensen shares his ideas on innovation in business for educators to apply to education.

This book offers some vision as to how schools can use technology to individualize education. The authors indicate that most innovation comes from outside the organization. Therefore, schools should be paying attention to the success or home schooling, charter schools etc.

My take was that parents may drive school change because they are taking online classes and webinars. Therefore, they know that individualized training exists and learning modules are available for all learning styles.

Lots of food for thought in creating a vision for education in 21st century.

Read it on my Kindle. Would love to read with a group of principals and run book chat on line. I believe much of what Mr. Horn writes. This book is terrific. I highly recommend it!

An academic look at the education system, and how it needs to be disrupted in order to be fixed. This book is research heavy, but has takeaways for those interested in entrepreneurship or plain innovation.

Schools spend millions on computers and other cutting-edge technology. Does it make any difference in student achievement?

This book suggests that such expenditures CAN make a difference, but that no significant improvements will be yielded from these investments unless we change the way we use the new learning tools.

    VERY interesting premise.
