“Fascinating nonfiction.”

The writer followed three very different teams through their seasons, from tryouts to end-of-the-year competitions, along the way explaining the culture of the sport and what drives the men and women who participate despite the risk of serious injury.”

It tells the story of three cheerleading teams and what they have to go through. It made me really feel like I knew these people. It's a real page turner. I found myself cheering for them!! Superb job, Kate!!! --Gerard Zemek, husband of author of "My Funny Dad, Harry" ”

The brief history of cheerleading was really interesting and shocking at times. About halfway through the book the author stops being a distanced observer and begins considering herself one of the team and the book dies.”
