Aahhh...delightful. I love books about books, which this is. Also, it's a book of conversations (my favorite part to read in a book). Well, letters actually. But letters are like conversations, except maybe even better. I love how some one can express their feelings towards another very DIRECTLY in a letter. Anyway, the writers of the letters in this book do so tenderly and coherently. It'll have you cursing text messaging and email by the end.

It's a light and easy read, but I didn't take away any stars for that since the author's style was such a pleasure. Be prepared for some sorrow woven throughout; the author does shed a little light on the German occupation of the British Isles during WW2.

I wasn't sure I'd like the letters format for a narrative, but I ended up liking it. It allowed me to hear the story from multiple viewpoints/narrators. I was drawn in to the plot.

A very charming story set in post WWII England. I liked the ending even though I figured it out long beforehand. It makes me want to start a book club :-)

Very cute and sweet, peppered with some awful WWII details. I would recommend to serious and non-serious readers alike.

lively, sad, wonderful. I loved Kit, her mom and this wonderful cast--even the villanesses. "Four for four being my new goal in life."

The ending was clearly written by someone else and for good reason (the main author became sick and passed away and it was finished by her niece) but it was still an excellent book.
