When our rep from Random House visited the store last month, she said that anyone who read The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society would want to talk to someone about it. If she also said that we shouldn’t be fooled by the title–it’s not a fluffy book about Southern ladies baking crazy pies and gossiping in their kitchens a la The Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood–she would have been right on both counts.

    I enjoyed this book very much. The characters developed before your eyes as the letters continued. I am wondering if anyone has read other good books that have been told in letters like this. What are they?

    A great read. I never would have thought that I would be so drawn to the lives of these fictional characters.. Just goest to show you how revealing letters can be. I also knew nothing about the isle of Guernsey or the part it played in WWII
