I think this is the most strikingly obvious plots people can identify in todays life-times.What makes eleven minutes or alchemist different is the very fact of their essence- that is a fresh perspective to look at the world and its ways, a point from which we might crouch and strain to look from, but all the same worth the effort.
This is an awesome book for personal growth, and almost all the books of Coelho are like the same great novels but this is the most clear reality of the life, of the personal feelings necessary to develop yourself. Read it ;) I wnat to read it again
Characters (The Devil or The Stranger, Miss Prym and Old Bertha) ?!
I wouldn't say this was a fight between evil and good. It wnudges one to introspection and understanding of the self within each human being., being aware. and I believe this awareness can lead us to becoming a better person
i think it's a good book because it talks about temptations in general that we face. and in every circumstance you have a choice. either you give in or not. it definitely talks about the sinful nature of human, but still there is a light that glows within every human.
Enjoyed this book. Luckily it is the 1st book I read for Coelho. It has made me want to read his other books. It also made me reflect more on my weaknesses as a human being and how it affects the way I act and make decisions. Loved the concept and the ending.
"The Good and Evil have the same face" This is the centre theme of the novel.
It is a novel on how we think, how we differentiate between good and bad. Paulo has presented different perspective regarding morality and spirituality.
There is a devil resides inside all of us and our actions are the result of constant battle between the angle and devil. If devil inside us is more powerful than our angle then we commit sin.
it is very inspirational...
i love chantal prym for her courage to stand for what she thinks is the best for her situation. she is very human... she's also smart when she insists to the man that she gets her share of gold... i like the way coelho makes every detail in the story grim and hopeless and in the end put that little spark of hope and instance that could change the story altogether....

I like such philosophical books. This one stands out in the list. I think i liked this more than "The Alchemist", especially the coversations of Miss Prym with "The Devil".
Do U have the option to choose or Ur forced in everything in life??? Do U follow Ur angels or Ur demonssss???? Very Nice Book
I REALLY RECOMANDED THIS BOOK ,IT SHOWS OUR POWERTY FOR SELFCONTROLING OURSELVES TO TEMTATIONS
I `ve read this book!!!I ask myself always this question:"how much is the price of human beings to offend a crime?"!!!!If I were miss prym, what would I do??!!
the story is great.but at the end ,miss prym must didn't recieve the money .because it seems she do all that activities for money.
The plot is great and it makes one curious after reading few chapters. In the era of Globalization and world getting more flatter , I feel there are such strangers and Miss pryms who are battling. Great Novel. In the end , as the stranger says, it is a choice to be good or evil, indeed.
Enjoyed reading the book, love to recommend
The story is situated at the border between craziness and mistery. on the one hand, ms Prym's wish of leaving the village is comprehensible, but on the other hand the stranger's behaviour and the impact he has on the whole community arouses so many controversy. you'll definitely find yourself tempted to read the book without any break :)
After reading the novel, i asked myself this question over and over:
are people so easily willing to comit a murder?
the village people didn't even see the gold when Miss prym was talking at the bar, they start planning at once to commit the crime without asking the stranger a straight question "do you really want us to kill for gold?"
can this be real? the evil part of us is going to jump to control position as soon as an evil idea is come up?
In my opinion, the author is exaggerating some dark aspects of human soul. On the other hand, as an example, in times of totalitarism there weren't many people who opposed crimes and ideology of the system. The same mechanism can be visible in normal life. So - IT IS POSSIBLE, but it happens rarely and only in unique circumstances.
