I never miss one of his and as always he keeps me ingrossed from beginning to end with the supense and suprise twists and turns. Greek Mythology - Gypsy lore - India - Chernoblyl??? You will just have to read it to see how it all connects. To those of you who...” see full review » see other reviews » |
“So far this is a really great book. I haven't the time to focus on it so it's taking me a bit, but very fascinating as the Author jumps from character to character with each chapter so you're not stumbling along a boring path. Always excitement!”

This is the fifth installment of the Sigma series. While on his way to work at the relatively secret offices of Sigma, Gray Pearce is approached by a bum, holding his hand out. As Gray hands a few bills to the old man, a gun shot rings out over the Washington D.C. Mall, and the man falls into Grays arms. Clutched in the old man's hand is an ancient Greek coin with the Temple of Delphi on one side and an Indian Chakra wheel on the back. At the Washington zoological park, a young Romani (gypsy) girl is kidnapped. The child has a unique ability to draw pictures that tell the future. In the Ukraine, a man wakes up after recent surgery to find 3 children at his bedside. Why do they want him to help them escape, when he doesn't even have a clue as to his own name, or where is is?
In typical Rollins style the three stories weave and tangle on a roller coaster of a novel which hops from Greece to Washington D.C. to the Ukraine, to India and back to the Ukraine. (Does Chernobyl ring any bells?)

After completing the reading of this novel (apparently Book 5 of a series known as Sigma Force), I know that I look forward to reading the first four in this series.
This particular novel is a happy blend of history, paranormal, world politics and adventure. I did think of another dynamic duo (no, not Batman and Robin!) created by one of my favorite authors, Clive Cussler. His novels often are based on the teamwork efforts of heroic, but human, figures. And, this author, too has developed characters who carry on to victory through amazing teamwork.”
