Didn’t Like It
“It's very short, being a £1 special for World Book Day. It's also, unfortunately, rather predictable and not overly exciting. OK, so it is a children's book, and I am definitely not the target audience. But sadly, it has only glimpses of Gaiman's writing skills, and the fairy-tale-tone rarely shines through. Meanwhile, the hero of the book was, to cynical old me, annoying, rather than sympathetic. His constant smiling was not endearing. So, on the whole, not the book I'd give to kids to...”
