Review of Graveyard Book

1. Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman
2. What worked for me was the changing of stories with each chapter. Each chapter was a different story that introduced different characters who would appear in a later chapter. This was how the story was set up until the very end where each chapter blended into the next.
3. What didn’t work for me was the simplicity of the novel with the beginning. It seemed written down for children whereas I was used to Gaiman’s older and more sophisticated novels, this seemed written down to children until much later in the book.
4. I will remember the chapter about Bod (Nobody-the main character) and his interaction with the witch, I did a play about the Salem witches and this chapter stood out for me, particularly his grave marker for the witch.
5. I give this 5 stars.
