I was one of the people who actually saw the movie before reading the book. As fine as that movie was, as in most cases, the book was better. That's all there is to it.

I was instantly sucked into the charming and quirky world of one Novalee Nation, a pregnant teacher stranded at a...

This book is about a pregnant woman who's boyfriend left her in a Wal-Mart in Oklahoma. She has no money, no job, is seven months pregnant, has no where to go and ends up living in Wal-Mart secretly. I found this book was not the most exciting. The suspenseful parts weren't very suspenseful and I...

Feel good story of how Novalee Nation turns her life around and lives happily ever after.

Includes homosexual rape of man and boy, f word used several times; overall, however, hopeful, life-affirming, truth will prevail, love conquers all, story with almost everyone living happily ever after.

I really enjoy the book Where the heart is. I like how the plot and storyline is different yet relatable. It is different because the main character Novalee and she is only seventeen years old and she gets pregnant and runs away from home with her boyfriend but he ends up leaving her and she ends up living in Walmart and giving birth there. This is relatable yet different because teen pregnancies are fairly common but not many people run away from home and live in Walmart. I like this book so far because it is interesting how Novalee is making all these connections because her boyfriend, Willy Jack, left her at a Walmart and she is ultimately creating a better live for her daughter rather then the life it would be with two teenage parents.

PB-B @ 95, 4/99. A pregnant 17 year old and her boyfriend cross country to find a job in California. She is left at an Oklahoma Wal-Mart. An Oprah book. Interesting.

Novalee Nation knew something was wrong with 7's. So when 17 7 month pregnant Novalee gets dumped by her boyfriend in Walmart hundred miles away from home. Novalee has her baby there. Follow the rest of the story to see what her and Americus have instore for them.
