Didn’t Like It“The first page seemed interesting, with the girl crying into the guy's chest and trying to get over a bad break-up (Jer went off to Thailand to "find himself" - and some women). |
“Excellent!”

Except the problem is that she whines way too extensively about wanting a boyfriend, and is generally clingy and annoying enough for the reader to get impatient. It didn't even end in a satisfying manner; sure, she made all the 'right' decisions, but it feels more that other people forced her to that conclusion, rather than she really learned it for herself.
Nice cover, disappointing contents. Go for Mlynowski's more recent novel, "Me vs. Me" instead.”
“Really good book, especially if you think guys suck. :) Immediately referred it to a friend.”

It brought back memories of when I was that age, and dealing with much the same issues, so it was quite realistic. My daughter hesitated to lend it to me, thinking I would find it too juvenile, but I enjoyed it very much!”

It is one of those books that will make you laugh out loud. The ending didn't tie all the knots, but it is safe to assume that Jackie and Andrew do end up being together. I wish there was some sequel to tell a story about the romance she was looking for all along.”

I just wish that things were a little more solid with Jackie and Andrew at the end. I really want to know if they would get together in a year or not.”

Jackie Norris finds herself single again after her boyfriend of three years, Jeremy, flees the country to find himself. So instead of moping around, Jackie flings herself right back into the dating scene. She quickly meets some men, all of whom are clearly still single for very good reasons. There's the double talker, Raisin Eyes, Ben with the groping hands, and clingy Tim. Jackie doesn't give up, though, hoping Jeremy will eventually come back to town. Which he does.
This book quickly took me back to being 20-something. I think I've met a few of the same men Jackie came across. And I'm pretty sure I dated Jeremy for something like two years. Thankfully, my eyes were opened when the right one came along. I knew instantly when Jackie's right one was introduced in the book. The question is, does she see him or will she remain blinded by the boy she cannot change?”
