“I would have thought that would women readers in particular would have objected to a story that features an older man that thinks it is okay to pick up a young woman and buy her lots of things, sleep with her and then dump her like this is some recipe for 50 something successful men. I think this story is contrived not in the sense that men and women don't behave like this, they do, but in the sense that both of the main characters seem too smart for this kind of simplistic scenario.”
