Organizations edit see section history

  • Thunderclan: ThunderClan lives in the forests between ShadowClan and RiverClan territory. They are one of the more peaceful clans, but they will fight and speak out for what is right no matter what. They hunt mice, voles, and other forest animals. Their current leader is Bluestar, her deputy is Redtail. The clan medicine cat is Spottedleaf.
  • Riverclan: RiverClan lives in the territory between ThunderClan and WindClan. They are known for their slight arrogance and their skills of swimming. Their diet consists of mainly fish, but also a few other creatures. The many fish they eat makes their fur somewhat water-repelant, helping them swim. Their current leader is Crookedstar, and his deputy is Oakheart. The clan medicine cat is Mudfur.
  • Shadowclan: ShadowClan lives in the pine forest and marsh land between WindClan and ThunderClan. They are known for their hunger for battle. It is said in other Clan's nursery tales that the cold winds that blow across their territory chills their hearts, making them suspicious and cunning. They eat frogs and lizards in the marshes, and squirrels in the pines. Their current leader is Brokenstar, and his deputy is Blackfoot. The clan medicine cat is Runningnose.
  • Windclan: WindClan lives on the open moors between ShadowClan and RiverClan territory. They are a nervous, skittish clan, but fierce in battle. They eat mainly rabbits, and the occasional other animal on the moor. Their current leader is Tallstar, and his deputy is Deafoot. The clan medicine cat is Barkface. Does not formally appear in this book.
  • Starclan: The four clans believe in StarClan, which is the afterlife for the Clan cats. The cats of the clans who die go up to StarClan to watch over their clan forever. In StarClan, there are no boundaries, and warriors from one clan hunt with warriors from another. The only cats denied entry to StarClan are those who commit terrible crimes. Because of this, a majority of warriors end up here.
