Didn’t Like It“I think this is a creative book, just not my taste or sense of humor. I didn't think Strangers with Candy was funny, so I don't know why I ever checked this out!” see full review » see other reviews » |

Entertaining will never seem implausible with this guidebook to lead you, as host or hostess, through the vagaries and hurdles of humanities ever-increasing desire for gratification. ”

This book is one we are reading for my real time book club this month. It fits the label. The book is both a farce and a book about food. At first I really thought this was a great coffee table/discussion book but as I dove into it, I found that I really couldn't have this book sitting on my coffee table. I liked the recipes. There are a lot of Greek recipes. There is also some projects that can be done with small children but there is also a lot of adult subject material. The book is a lot of things, some involving good, some involving hospitality (which means "I like you" and she gives several examples of parties that you can host, what to do and not to do tips. It is humorous and depending on your taste, home and friends, miight make a good coffee table/discussion book. (It definitely doesn't have thriller in the title but it does have a spooky party theme.
