Chapter after chapter I was pulled into the world of Rachel, her husband Joshua and her ex husband and an ex con, Dexter.
The story starts off with Dexter escaping from prison with his money and ex wife on his mind. While in prison he dreamed of ways of torturing and killing his ex wife and at the same time getting the money back that she stole from him.
Dexter being an ex cop and ex con made the story very interesting and scary at the same time. He had forced his ex wife into a life of misery and pain while they were married. He never hesitated to 'punish her' with his hands. After being married to him for a short period of time and getting abused on a regular basis when her time came to get away from him she did.
Rachel (aka Joy Bates) filed for a divorce, changed her name, social security number, appearance and moved to Atlanta to start a new life. But doing so would cause her family and close friends to pay the ultimate price, one that she would never imagine.
Joshua, Rachel's second husband starts to notice that things are not as they seem with his wife. Rachel feels she has no choice but to lie to her husband and keep her past a secret in fear of losing her life. But after she leaves him a dear john letter and takes nothing but the clothes on her back Joshua starts to uncover his wife lies and put the pieces together to find where she disappeared to. Uncovering the truth and finding his wife could prove to be deadly for him.
Brandon Massey did a wonderful job writing this story. It was full of mystery, suspense and action! From the first page to the last this story definitely had my attention! I was expecting a little more action and suspense at the end, but I still wouldn't rate it under five stars. Readers looking for a good book that will keep you guessing to the very last page, pick up Don't Ever Tell! It was a pageturner!
